Case Study - Classic bike application

Many classic bikes were built with a factory standard matt-black or grey exhaust finish rather than chrome.

Zircotec's Performance Colours^TM range provides a range of coatings that can replicate these original factory finishes.

Case Study - Stein Klevhoy custom bike

Stein Klevhoy from Norway approached Zircotec with a requirement for an exhaust coating that would either match or compliment the trim on his highly customised Harley-Davidson bike.

Before choosing Zircotec Stein had looked at options such as high temperature exhaust paint, both aerosol and brush-on, and had also considerred high temperature powder coating. He was concerned that these products would not be able to withstand the high temperatures on his exhaust. Stein wanted something that would retain its appearance in use and at the same time provide a thermal barrier that would shield the rider from contact with the hot exhaust. He had read about Zircotec's coatings on the internet and had seen that others had recommended Zircotec's products. As a result, he decided to give Zircotec a try. 

After viewing samples of our Performance Colours^TM range, Thomas decided on Zircotec's Copper^TM finish. When Thomas received the coated exhaust from Zircotec he was absolutely delighted. Once the exhaust was fitted, the coating complimented his bike perfectly. He also noted the very significant reduction in exhaust temperature whilst riding his bike. When we finally saw pictures of the finished bike and looked at the routing of his exhaust close to the riders legs we could see exactly his concern about heat!

Stein went on to enter his bike in the Oslo Open Classic Bike Competition (2009) and was awarded 1st place.
