Zircotec coatings receive commendation from The Manufacturer Awards 2008

Zircotec has received a "Commendation" from The Manufacturer Awards 2008 for its composite coating technology. The annual Manufacturer Awards are designed to raise the profile, awareness and understanding of UK manufacturing. The commendation was received, appropriately in the Design and Innovation Award, one that sets out to recognise those who can show how they have become and remained competitive by increasing their rate of innovation, anticipation and responsiveness to ever changing market conditions.

 

Zircotec’s composite coating will allow high strength, lightweight materials to be used in high temperature environments for which they have previously been unsuitable. Believed to be the only product of its type available commercially, the process is so effective it allows composites to function in temperatures above their melting point; testing for a typical application gave a reduction in composite surface temperature of more than 125ºC.
